I've had an obsession with them recently. Metal, pop, porn (moaning takes vocal work), what have you.
Discuss.

After getting over Evanescence, not counting actual female singers, I refound the old skool Nightwish albums. Also, newlyfound fandom for Flyleaf.

That's pretty much how it worked here. If it's all recent, you'll probably follow close to my same path (I move faster when it comes to adapting to music than most people of what I've seen.. but others tend to follow about the same roots to where I get).
I've been <3ing Nightwish bigtime. Also.. true/power metal.

I could name off tons of bands I love that have female vocalists. The ones you both mentioned, also Garbage, Within Temptation, Fleetwood Mac (Oh snap, this is sort of random in here), etc. etc. I want to know how some of them can sing so low - I bet it takes tons and tons of practice.

Made Out Of Babies, not surprisingly. Julie Christmas has an awesome voice, unlike any other singer, except maybe the singer for QueenAdrena, formerly form Daisy Chainsaw.

Don't know who it is (they are?), but the female vocals (be them choirs or not) in most Therion albums always hit the spot for me. The male singers do the trick too, but it's the way the female voices weave into the track that makes some of them really unforgettable. The stuff mentioned here (particularly Nightwish, and pr0n why even lie) is great stuff too. I probably have a good deal of appreciation for a woman's voice, never really thought about it recently though.
Fact that no one gives a shit about: I once believed that only girls could sing well, so the entirety of my music collection was made up of instrumental tracks and songs featuring sexy female vocals. Exposure to good bands changed that eventually, but for the longest time in my preteen years I never appreciated singing men. Crazy?
As far as foreign music goes, female vocals tend to be infinitely more accessible and appreciable for me. Male counterparts? Not so much - when I don't understand the lyrics, the language barrier often makes it tougher for me to take the music seriously.

First band that comes to mind: Paramore. I hate the band so much, but Hailey is to die for. Not her voice, I mean her body.
Anyways, The Donnas come to mind. It's a band of all female and they represent, to me, the epitome of funky rock these days. Haven't heard them? Give them a shot, but if you have heard them, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. They haven't released an album in quite a while, but I'm pretty sure they're still kickin it.
Flyleaf also comes up. Not a big fan myself, but the vocalist is pretty great. If you could stick her with good a backing band she could truly shine. This is only one person's opinion, but the band works over a bland guitar riff (sometimes spiced-up with a wah effect or something similar) and breaks into a chorus that consists of four bar or power chords (both stupid easy to construct...ehr did I say construct? LOL) each spanned the entire width of a measure (give or take to fake some rhythm). Sorry if you like the band, this is just coming from somebody that listens to something like 5/4 and 7/8 switched back and forth repeatedly in music. ;)
Also, as far as female vocalists go, look at my avatar.

Looks like that in your avatar, anyway.

Yeah, I'm trying to make some sense of the avatar statement too.
I was thinking more along the lines of "I feel the aural equivalent of an overstated female hentai orgasm when I listen to girls sing", but that may be wrong!

It's probably just a "I look at them for the sex, I don't give a shit how they sound", but that makes sense depending on the person, too, Kanj.
...She does appear to possibly be singing in the image though. :/

Because all of those bands are boring. If you like Arch Enemy post-"Burning Bridges", you just don't like metal.

SS here doesn't like good music. If it's not nostalgia or muscle, he doesn't dig it.

...XD! I feel pathetic for saying this, but its what I like so that's too bad: I like cascada and kelly clarkson. For some reason, their styles of singing and vocal talents appeal to me. I know most people hate them and think they're old news, but I'm just like that, I 'spose. Vanessa Carlton its nice now and then, too...although a bit whiny in some songs. I'm not as into metal and hardcore stuffs as much as some of you are.
