When I first watched Therion's Live Gothic concert (Jonas knows what I'm talking about here), there was a belly dancer that caught my attention. When she started dancing, I was ecstatic when she started to spin; I hoped that she would keep on spinning. Alas, she didn't. I was dissapointed and I wished there was a dance where the person would just spin all the time. Doing various things of course.
In all honestly, I never expected that there actually IS a dance where its focus is spinning. Do you have any idea how shocked I was?
I can't even begin to explain. It's so damn cool! I couldn't contain myself and as soon as the performance was over, I went straight to google and searched for this mystery dance. I found a bunch of videos and I'm enjoying them like hell. It's addictive.
It's an Egyptian folklore dance called El-Tanoura.
