In all honestly I can not tell if this is a joke thread or not. Your posts tend to walk the line of dumbass and just plain fucking dumb, but really I mean really how can you be this fucking immature or racist to make a thread like this? But come on, man. I was just trying to give this carefree site a few threads - I didn't know that such a carefree site that supposably had carefree members would get offended by such a vague thread. I guess I was wrong though.

You didn't understand the sarcasm in my post and I don't blame you. I am half asian (filipinos aren't technically asian but most people stereotype them the same way). On the slight chance that this is a joke thread why not make fun of the user the made the tread with the same asian stereotypes we both know people cast upon the both of us because heaven forbid making fun of any race that isn't black or "normal" is wrong. I for one am just sick of the whole "elitists" attitude people have on forums.

You have all these little internet trends like talk "leet" or mockingly talking "ghetto" throwing out words like "nigga". How many of you feel comfortable saying that in front of a group of black people you just met? Being born in Oakland I personally feel just fine throwing the word around other people, although more often than not I see people using the word online in a mocking condescending. Well, why is making fun of black people funny?

EDIT: Just because you have a black friend doesn't make a topic like this any more racist and or offensive to other people. If you would have changed this topic title to "Do gay people scare you?" then start posting gay celebrities and offend a member here and say to him or her,

"hey it ok I don't mean it I have a gay friend so don't get bent out of shape"

Is it now ok, and they are just overreacting? The point is when you make a carefree topic that makes fun of someone else you may offend someone else. You may think it is stupid and it just someone internet forum but you never know when you could hurt someone and it just shows immaturity when you choose to find taking poking fun at someone humorous and deem it ok because you know I have a black friend so I can't be racist.

Ah, got ya. Well, sort of. I actually haven't really frequented forums long enough to develop a sort of "elitist" attitude or some sort of "internet persona" I would show when I am online, and then act differently when in real life. I understand what type of members you are talking about though, and I can safely assure you that I'm not one of those forum-goers.

Yeah, I'm of Chinese and Cambodian descent, but I have alot of influence on the Cambodian culture.. and the Cambodian culture is sometimes very similar to people of the African American culture. Hell, some of us Cambodians are even as dark as them, so we share the same jokes and the same stereotypes. If it looks to you that I came into this thread, as an outside asian looking into the african culture and making fun of them, I'm not. It's just that my culture, the Cambodian culture, has similar styles and values as them. We're like... black asians, lol.

We could probably argue the severities of how much damage I could of done to someone by this thread, but that's pointless. I used to have a disdain for African Americans. When stereotypes like Flava Flav and Master P are propped up for emulation (i.e. my experiences with black kids at school) it makes for some difficulty not assigning negative attributes en mass. The "ghetto language," the overtly gaudy and gangster clothing, the things valued and the general culture expressed by the people I knew in high school added up to a general disdain for African Americans... which bothered me. They both frightened and disgusted me.

Then I went to college. I made several lovely black friends with whom I discussed this very topic. I discovered I never really had a problem with black people; I had a problem with stupid people.

I still do.

I have a problem with people who are like I used to be... assigning an entire subset of the population the negative attributes held by the few. I have a problem with generalizations based on appearances.
