Ok so I had a discussion with a friend on trilogies or just plain movie number 3 and the 3rd one always seems to be real lame so here is a poll of a list we created and you tell me which 3rd one in the series sucked.

It's tied for me; Revolutions and The Last Stand were both horrible, horrible third installments.

Revolutions completely abandoned the slick, stylistic, believable art of the original movie and replaced it all with mech suits, wise cracks, and dues ex machina. It didn't really wrap up the story (because it had to be continued...and still continues in an on-line MMORPG) and gave half assed resolutions dressed up as new age philosophy (a pretty horrible costume choice anyway.)

The Last Stand... what hasn't already been said? My biggest gripe is that they relegated Phoenix to varicose vein face. She wasn't the all powerful bad ass from the cartoons and she certainly wasn't the character from the comics. She wasn't even the "bird of fire" we saw under the lake at the end of the second one. It was the perfect sign off to the crap fest that the trilogy became (until Wolverine of course.)

Between the two I guess I'll give it up to the Matrix Revolutions because I had expectations of that movie. I didn't expect (or even really want) anything more from the X-men trilogy after the second one.

I haven't seen half of these movies, and the ones I did see were pretty damn good, but I can say this: the guy who directed X-Men 3 was not the same guy who did the previous movies. Instead, they got the guy who directed Spiderman 3 to direct X-Men 3 because the other director was busy with Superman.

How come Return Of the Jedi wasn't on this list? I mean, The Empire being destroyed by a bunch of midget-teddy Jim Henson drones? Woof.

If I wasn't saving my vote for shittiest third film for the above-mentioned, it'd go to Rush Hour 3, simply due to its existance.

Simply because the most horrible movie of this trilogy is the sixth movie, Revenge of the Sith.

I would personnaly vote for Spider-Man, X-Men, Rush Hour (that I haven't seen, but was this movie really necessary) and Lethal Weapon. Lethal Weapon is the biggest disappointment in this. I really like the first two, but the third one is just random from what I can remember.

I wish I could vote for Spiderman, Matrix and X-men at the same time however, my love for the "Phoenix" character is what made me vote for X-Men as being the worst trillogy. Don't get me wrong. The 3rd Matrix made me want to punch a baby in the face, and the directors of that movie still owe me fucking money for going to see that crap, same with Spiderman 3, but X-Men absolutely SHIT on Phoenix. Literally shit on her character. It's disappointing.

Oh dear, I'm raging. Star Wars: Return of the Jedi was the third in the original Star Wars trilogy, and the sixth in the movie set. So, yeah.

Breathe. Remove foam from mouth. Masturbate.

Fack, for whatever reason I classify those movies into two trilogies, oldschool and jar-jar. Thus, by my reasoning, I am right.

rush hour 3 was by far the worst in my opinion. I love the hell out of the first two and they completely went in the wrong direction with the third installment. especially how they wrote off jackie's love interest
