1.) The first song had that "foot loose," "devil may care," let's get in the car and go make bad decision vibe. It reminded me of Buddy Holly and the White Stripes both of whom I'm a huge fan. I liked most everything about including the fact it was a little short.

2.) I'm a giant fan of instrumental music. Had this track had lyrics I'd likely put it in the same category as the first song. That sort of reckless guitar riffing is always catchy and recalls a time when music was written by artists rather than demographics. I liked this song as well.

3.) The third song had the strongest story in my opinion and more intense guitar playing though it was a little on the melancholy side. It's one of those songs you'll never heard on the radio.

I think all three fit in the same vein in some ways which makes it a little bit more difficult to choose between them. It was a tough call between track 1 and track 3.

Added the links to stream the songs on Imeem in Kanji's post.

The three songs are good guitar songs. I can see why Proxy says they "fit in the same vein in some ways".

I really like the clapping and the distorted voice in the first song, as well as the pauses the player took between the verse and chorus. And the energy coming out of this, which might have a bit to do with the distorted singing.

The second song is pretty awesome. Again, the clapping, which doesn't really stand out, but is always useful. It works great compared with the muted guitar parts. Sounds a little jazz-rock. A bit too short to my liking though.

Third song sounds like the verses could come from a Lynyrd Skynyrd song. Still, the guitar playing is unusual. He throws in a bunch of notes whilep laying the chords, and it sounds great.

If song 2 was longer, it would get my vote because I love instrumental tracks. I just feel like that song isn't over and they cut it short.

Song one is more energetic. Song three is more of a story. Both are pretty awesome.

Hahah, wow - it is pretty crazy how all of them turned out to be similar styles, with the strong acoustic guitar and whatnot. Almost seems like they could all be from the same album.

1. Catchy as hell. Can't help tapping my foot to it, even after a few listens straight. The vocalist is alright - passable without being impressive. I really like the dual guitars and tambourine, though.

2. Another one that makes me want to tap my foot to the rhythm. Have to agree with Timothy that it could have stood to be about a minute longer. Pretty good, but I think I prefer song 1.

3. Sounds simpler than the previous two - not that simple is a bad thing, but in this case it works against the song, I think. It's pretty good for the first listen, but after that I get kind of bored about halfway through the song.

Song 1 got my vote. Liked all of them this time.

Quick note here: I'm taking off for a month-long vacation to India, so I won't be around to receive your nominations. Send your shit to Ilythia, as she'll be shouldering my Enigmaudioish responsibilities for a while.

naikou pretty much nailed my thoughts. Except all of the songs this week are catchy as hell to me. Addictive, too, considering their short durations. Nice nominations, folks.

Gotta say though, track 1 is by far the catchiest. Almost found myself singin' it in my sleep last and in the shower this morning, so I guess it's already found a spot in my library. Pretty much everything about this song makes it good. I really dig the vocals here, too. Not sure if it's an intended distortion, a crappy recording job, my speakers, or just bad mp3 quality, but the resulting voice sounds so much more raw than it could otherwise. Lovin' it. Votin' it. Makin' love to it... maybe.

Song 2's definitely the most instrumentally complex of the bunch. Digging the jazzy undertones here. Unfortunately, I agree with Timothey that the shorter length makes for a weaker track in this case. This blows, because with a little more development and direction I could see myself really getting into this one. It's still pretty good, if ultimately forgettable.

The third track was my initial favorite of the group. Was pretty sure I was going to throw it the bone on my first listen, but the vocals shine a little less with repetition. (Plus, they just don't hold a candle to the ridiculous catchiness of Track 1.) Still, from an acoustic guitar showdown perspective, this one basically mops the floor with the other two. There's some really interesting stuff going on in the background if you listen for it.

Not gonna really go into depth here.

The first song grabbed my attention quickly. It's catchy, fun although I found myself laughing at the lyrics. "..bringing out the bitch in you". Vocals where something that had to grow on me.

Now, the second song's upbeat nature I digged a lot. Length wise, it was perfect for me.

Unfortunately the last track didn't cut it out for me. The vocals where too depressing for my taste.. although I can't quite recall it as I have been repeating endlessly the first two.

Vote goes to song number 2.

*bump*

Seeing as there is a tie, perhaps there will be a repetition of last week with the underdog taking the win again?! I'll leave it open for one more week so it gives others a chance to listen to the songs again and cast their votes.

Oh yes, I currently have one song nomination in. There's two slots open for grabs. Any takers?

Side note: Drag Me to Hell was surprisingly good.. on the disgusting side that is.

I'll throw a song in with you. Oh, won't some nice person out there, please break the tie or at least... make it interesting?

I found myself enjoying track 1 the most, it felt like it had the most completion and as Ilythia had mentioned, I enjoyed the vocals the most.

I do enjoy instrumental tracks. And like Timothey had mentioned, it does feel cut short for serious. And for me, that just tuned me out of the song.

Song three I found with the least appeal as I couldn't find myself enjoying either the vocals or the beat

I'm gonna play tie breaker here by preference (and not force!) song 1 gmv!

I'd definitely check out the full album if you'd be kind enough to post it.

Great week this was. I don't feel bad at all for dealing the death blow to my own song - #1 was just awesome.

I've got a couple tracks I'm thinking about nominating for the week after next. I'll try and get one in soon enough.

Edit:
Never mind, looks like you already posted it. Thanks!
